Pupil premium is a fund of money to help schools reduce the attainment gap between disadvantaged children and other children. The children who are eligible for this grant include:

  • Children who have been registered for Free School Meals (FSM) at any point in the last 6 years
  • Children who have been looked after continuously for more than 6 months
  • Children of armed forces personnel

The school has a Pupil Premium Strategy which clarifies the approach taken to  directly addresses the barriers to learning that disadvantaged pupils face. The impact of the strategy is monitored by the school’s Governing Board and an evaluation report is published every year. For 2022-23 the strategy is more relevant than ever as we respond to the additional needs resulting from interruptions to children’s learning and developed caused by the coronavirus pandemic.
