We are committed to providing the very best early educational experience for all children in our community. We work closely with five other Maintained Primary Schools in BANES (Newbridge Primary, St Keyna Primary, Paulton Junior School, St Johns Catholic Primary School and St Mary’s Catholic Primary School) as a BANES Hub of the South Gloucestershire Learning Alliance. Our Hub Action Plan 2022-2023, has identified 4 areas for development that are common across the six schools.

We are are also very excited to be one of seven school in Bath and North East Somerset that are taking part in the Primary Empowerment Programme which has been established by St John’s Foundation.

With the support of St John’s Foundation we have introduced Read Write Inc. and Reading Recovery in AY 2021-22 and we also appointed a new Reading and Writing Support Teacher. We have also introduced Language for Life in the Nursery to identify children with speech and language needs and provide targeted support. This has already had a significant impact on the progress that children are making.

The Primary Empowerment Programme is enhancing the work we do in the nursery and school to better meet the neets of our children and to accelerate their learning and development.

Our current priorities for school development are summarised in the table below.
