In Year 2 we enjoy listening to, and reading, chapter books. The children have explored character, setting and story creation as well as poetry and making non-fiction books. We are becoming more confident writers and all take part in regular guided reading groups.

Maths

In Maths this term, our focus has been on number and addition. The children have had fun discovering patterns in number, and enjoyed making and exploring place value with numbers that have a lot of zeros. Many children use Cuisenaire to help them understand 2 digit numbers. We enjoy being Mathematicians! Mathematicians look for patterns, ask questions and make predictions.

This term, our Explore topic is ‘Great Explorers’. Do encourage your child to find out about past and present explorers, and be explorers themselves!
